Key points
- The society must bear at least 25% of the cost; MLA funds can cover up to 75%.

- Nine kinds of work are allowed — rainwater harvesting, waste and sewage treatment, solar energy, EV charging, internal roads and paver blocks, open gyms and jogging tracks, green cover, CCTV and fire-safety systems, and ramps for the disabled.
- The society must have its last three audits done, an occupation certificate, and a general body resolution, and must maintain the assets.
Conditions
- The society’s share (at least 25%) must be in its bank account before sanction, certified by the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer with a copy of the passbook.
- The society maintains the assets created, and its office-bearers give a notarised affidavit to that effect.
- Lifetime limit per society ₹50 lakh; each MLA may recommend works in housing societies up to ₹2.5 crore in a financial year.
- The work is carried out by the local body, a Government agency or a Government undertaking. 50% of the MLA share is released on administrative approval; the rest after the society certifies spending its 25% and the work is complete.
